Eco-Tourism in the Alpujarra \u2013 Granada<\/h2>\n

“La cortijada”\u00a0(A traditional group of homesteads and farm buildings)
\nHas been transformed into an hotel\/appartment complex; situated on the southern flank of the Sierra Nevada mountains on a rise above the river Guadalfeo , it enjoys panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada National Park.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Farm:<\/a><\/h3>\n

Is surrounded by 40 hectares of organically cultivated vineyards and woodland; almond, fig, olive and fruit trees abound, providing refreshing cool and shade. Within the grounds are the home farm buildings and stables, a hermitage, winery and multi-use function room.<\/p>\n

The Alqueria de Morayma is committed to developing and maintaining the traditions of the local Alpujarre\u00f1o lifestyle, reknowned for its unique architecture, food, farming and production methods.<\/p>\n

Accommodation:<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/h3>\n

Comprises 22 units (some self-catering) . All furnishings, fabrics, paintings and decoration are different in every unit \u2013 antiques, ceramics and local textiles predominate. All\u00a0 accommodation offers mountain views. Prices vary between 70 euros for a double room up to 120 euros for a two bedroomed appartment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Restaurant:<\/a><\/h3>\n

There are two dining rooms: one large with an open fireplace, bar and sunny terrace with mountian views; the other more formal and intimate. The menu offers traditional Spanish dishes with local specialities such as the thick stews, migas, charcuterie and rice dishes for which the Alpujarra is well known. Daily set lunch menus from 12 euros.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Winery & Olive Press:<\/a><\/h3>\n

All wines produced on the farm are organic. Varieties include vigiriega, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and syrah.\u00a0 Olive oil and St John\u2019s Wort (hypericum)\u00a0 oil are produced, figs and almonds are also harvested annually. As well as demonstrating current production methods\u00a0 there is also a museum dedicated to the conservation of traditional methods.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Courses:<\/a><\/h3>\n

Meetings, conferences and exhibitions are held in the workshop (90 sq.m.) with its\u00a0 own private garden ideal for outdoor activities.<\/p>\n

Directly from the Alqueria there are many waymarked routes to suit all capabilities. Especially highlighted are the day walks PR-25 \u2018Cadiar \u2013 Mecina\u2019 and the PR-32 \u2018Contraviesa\u2019, as well as the longer routes GR-7 and GR-142 for which published guides are available in bookshops and at the Alqueria.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
